のど【喉】

1 〔咽喉〕 a throat; (食道) a gullet; (気管) a windpipe; 〔首の前面〕 the throat.

●のどが渇く be [feel] thirsty [dry]; one's throat [mouth] is [feels] parched [dry]

・のどが渇いて仕方がない. I'm dying of thirst. | I'm absolutely parched (with thirst). | I'm desperate for a drink.

・のどが渇いて水を飲む drink water to cool one's parched throat

・のどがからからだ. I'm absolutely parched. | My throat is as dry as a bone.

・〔風邪で〕 医者にのどが赤いと言われた. The doctor said my throat was inflamed.
